  League Rules 2011/12
 
  1:   The format will consist of three pairs, followed by four singles - thereby allowing teams to be made up of at least six players but up to 10.
  2:   The captains of each team can decide on who plays in what, be it pairs, singles or both. The opposing captain then does the draw from the names placed face down. Players can only be drawn out more than once if the team has less than 10 players present.
  3:   Any team arriving with only 5 players may have one player drawn again in order to make up the sixth player for the pairs. Any team having only 4 players will forfeit one pair's game (3 points) and so on.
  4:   All players present (up to a maximum of 10) must be entered into the draw unless thay cannot play for medical reasons.
  5:   Games:
   Pairs    - to be 501 STRAIGHT IN start, double finish, all 3 legs to be played.
   Singles - to be 501 DOUBLE start, double finish, all 3 legs to be played.
  6:   Points: one point per leg, total of 21 points per match.
  7:   Games to start by toss of coin, loser of first leg to throw first in second leg. If leg-leg, toss of coin decides who throws first in the deciding leg. The away team always calls.
  8:   Players to throw consecutively in the pairs.
  9:   Draw to be made by 8:15pm, first game to start no later than 8:30pm.
  10:   A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to the opposing team if your team cannot make their game. You must also text the league secretary of this notice. If you do not give 48 hours notice to the team and secretary, you will forfeit your game with a score of 0-16.
  11:   In the event of a team cancelling a game, the opposing team must give 3 reasonable dates (i.e. not Tues, Weds and Thurs of the same week) on which the game could be played. This must be arranged between the two captains (phone numbers can be obtained from the contacts list) and once arranged, both captains must text the league secretary the re-arranged date. In the event of these dates not being fulfilled the committee will award 0 points to the cancelling* team and 16 points to the defending team. (*Re-arranged game cancelled).
  12:   All players to be registered before the league starts, any additional players can be registered on the night provided that the player's name(s) are printed on the back of the result card. Both captains sign underneath. Only to be done in the first half of the season. Each player can only play for one team.
  13:   All registered players to have played in at least 3 league games in order for them to be eligible for competition entry, including the Team Knockout. The only exception to this rule is for the mixed pairs, where only one player need be a registered player.
  14:   No player to be registered if registered for another Monday night league. Or if they play for a County League team or above (unless they have played in our league for at least 3 years).
  15:   Up to 2 players can be transferred between teams during the first half of the season only. The player concerned must make a written request to the League Secretary; this has to be done at least 7 days before the player can play for a new team.
  16:   League fees - fees to be £30 per team, including the Team Knockout.
  17:   Captains to ensure that all 180's scored during league games, are clearly marked on the relevant result cards.
  18:   The Geoff Dellar Memorial Shield will be played for during the season and will be presented to the male player that gets the highest shot out. If more than one player gets the same score the committee will decide on a play off. It will be up to the captains each week to ensure that the highest shot out is recorded on the result card each week.
  19:   The Jimmy Wells / Tim Edlington Memorial Cup will be played for during the season and will be presented to the female player that gets the highest shot out. If more than one player gets the same score the committee will decide on a play off. It will be up to the captains each week to ensure that the highest shot out is recorded on the result card each week.
  20:   Result Cards to be handed in at The King Bill by the Wednesday following the game, the winning captain is responsible for ensuring result cards are handed in on time. Points will be deducted for late result cards, 3 points for the first time, 6 points for the second time and so on.
  21:   All oches to be clearly marked for both a 7' 6“ throw and also for a 7' 9¼“ throw. The board to be 5' 8“ from the centre of the bull down. Raised oche optional for the front line only.
  22:   Dartboards to be Diamond wire (i.e. Unicorn Eclipse, Winmau Blade or equivalent). The board is to be lit by a 100 watt bulb. Captains to agree on condition of the board before the match.
  23:   The trophies are to be the responsibility of the winning pub. They are to remain in the pub and not in the homes of the individual winners. Captains are to ensure that trophies are not misplaced and are readily available for collection at the end of the season. If a Trophy is lost, then you will be responsible for the cost of replacing it.
  24:   All trophies are to be returned to the League Secretary if the landlord and landlady leave the pub in which the trophy is being held.
  25:   If the League winners wish to enter the 'Champion of Champions' competition themselves, then the league will pay the entry fee. You will however be asked to refund those fees if you fail to turn up and play.
  26:   In the event of these rules being abused, any complaints will be resolved by the committee who will have the right to change the result of a match or forfeit a match. Rules are in place for everybody's enjoyment and fairness, but in the event of any queries regarding the league please contact the League Secretary.
 
  Notes:
 
  Full names (not just forenames/surnames and NOT nicknames) to be entered on forms and result cards.
