  Competition Rules 2011/12

All competitions are £1.00 per player per competition, except for the Team Knockout which is included in the League Fees.
All players entering in any competition must have played in at least 3 league games. The only exception to this rule is for the Mixed Pairs competition, where only one participant needs to be registered.
Pairs/Mixed Pairs - If a player's chosen partner fails to turn up for the first round, they may play with a new partner, but remember that the new partner must be registered and must have played in at least 3 league games. This player must then continue to play in any other rounds reached. If however they have no replacement, then they may play on their own, having 3 darts to the opponents 6. If they get through to the next round their partner (as named on the competition sheet) may play in that and any subsequent rounds.
Team Knockout - This competition is to be played using the same format as the league matches, 3 pairs followed by 4 singles, except that each game is the best of 3 legs rather than all 3 legs. The first team to win 4 games wins and progresses to the next round. Any team turning up with only 5 players, may have 1 player re-drawn to make up the 3rd pair. All players present must be entered into the draw.
Only one board to be used for any competition unless two boards have been requested.
All competitions will be played 501 straight start, double finish.
Players to throw consecutively in Pairs and 3's.
All draw sheets with a list of players will be left at each venue for the steward. It is up to the steward to return the draw sheet to the British Legion or to text the result to Amey (on 07846 172186) clearly stating the winner's names. If for any reason a name changes from that on the sheet, it is up to the steward to make sure the new name is clearly stated on the draw sheet.
All players to be present by 8:25pm. The draw to be made at 8:30pm sharp. Any player arriving during or after the draw will not play. Any dispute the steward's word is final.
Unfortunately, because the trophies are ordered before the competitions, it is impossible to give '180 awards' to anyone scoring 180 in any competition.
All semi finals and finals will be played on Finals' Night and not before (except for the Team Knockout).
Champion of Champions - If the league and the single winners wish to enter the 'Champion of Champions' competition themselves, the league will pay their entry fees. You will however be asked to refund those fees if you fail to turn up and play.
The Julie Rignall Memorial Cup - This competition will be played as open pairs. Pairs can be made up of both men, ladies or mixed. All entry fees and money raised from the raffle will be sent to Arthur Rank in memory of Julie.
The trophies are to be the responsibility of the winning pub. They are to remain in the pub and not in the home of individual winners. Captains are to ensure that the trophies are not misplaced and are readily available for collection at the end of the season. If a trophy is lost, then you will be responsible for the cost of replacing it.
All trophies are to be returned to the League Secretary if the landlord and landlady leave the pub in which the trophy is being held.
In the event of these rules being abused, any complaints will be resolved by the committee who will have the right to change the result of a match or forfeit the match. Rules are in place for everybody's enjoyment and fairness, but in the event of any queries regarding the competitions please contact Amey Foster on 07846 172186.

  Note:

Full names (not just forenames/surnames and NOT nicknames) to be entered on forms and result cards.

A copy of these rules will be with the steward at each venue.
